The third member of the M6 family now joins the elder siblings- existing Coupe and Convertible models. The vehicle will make its world debut at the Detroit Motor Show, which is taking place next month.

Except sharing the similar platform with the existing version, the all new M6 Gran Coupe also houses the similar V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo, which churns out the maximum of 560bhp and touches 0-100kmph mark in 4.2 seconds. The acceleration figures of the all new M6 Gran coupe are a tenth quicker than the M5, leaving it closest rival Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG, which sprints 0-96 in about 4.4 seconds. The top-speed of the all new M6 Gran Coupe is however similar to that of the Merc CLS 63 AMG, buyers can go for performance package that raises its limit to outstanding 304kmph.

Built on the 6-Series Gran Coupe platform, the new M6 brings together customary M performance characteristics with extra helpings of luxury and aesthetic appeal. And the elegantly sporty lines of the four-door Coupe are complemented by bespoke features, such as the carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof. The greater interior space of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe allows two rear passengers to enjoy generous levels of on-board comfort, and there is also a third rear seat for use on shorter journeys.

The front of the car is dominated by its large air intakes, standard Adaptive LED Headlights and an M kidney grille designed especially for this model. From the side, the first four-door Coupe in the BMW M GmbH ranks is clearly distinguishable from the BMW M6 Coupe thanks to its rear doors and 113-millimetre longer wheelbase.

The low roofline flowing smoothly into the rear, the swage line – which takes in the door openers – and side windows extending well into the C-pillars accentuate the dynamically stretched silhouette.

Prominently flared wheel arches draw the eye to a track width specific to the BMW M6 Gran Coupe. The characteristic M gills, aerodynamically optimised exterior mirrors, standard BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line package and 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke design underline the car’s distinctive appearance, as does another M signature – twin exhaust tailpipes positioned on the outer edges of the rear apron. Also integrated into the rear apron, and charged with the task of optimising airflow along the car’s underbody, is a diffuser made from CFRP.

The all new M6 Gran Coupe weighs however about 5kg more, but that is certainly because of the fitments, which only enhances its performance and makes it more balanced and quicker than its rivals. The Interior of the vehicle has been given the leather upholstery and rear climate control, making it a plush product. the 1,265 litres of boot space too is phenomenon. After making its debut in Detroit, the vehicle will go on sale, which has been priced quite competitive. Having the starting price of £98,500, the new M6 is about £25,000 higher than the M5.
