BMW has launched the X1 20i Tech Edition in India at Rs 43 lakh (ex-showroom India). It is the most expensive variant of the SUV and is available only as a limited edition sold exclusively through BMW Online.
The Tech Edition gets new 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the most significant change is the 10.25-inch touchscreen information system. There is a 205W audio system, which was previously only available with the top-of-the-line M Sport (diesel) variant. The Tech Edition also offers a head-up display and wireless smartphone charging, which you won’t find on the SUV’s other variants.

The X1 20i Tech Edition is available in two colour options: Alpine White and Phytonic Blue (metallic). Both shades come with a leatherette Oyster Black upholstery.
The limited-edition SUV has been provided with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 192PS and 280Nm. It is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that drives the front wheels.
Safety features include six airbags, traction control, ESP (electronic stability program), electronic parking brake with auto hold, and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points.
The BMW X1 rivals entry-level premium SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q2, and Volvo XC40.
