The sportier version in the Jaguar XJ series – XJR was spotted in disguise at the Nürburgring track. The XJ was launched nearly four years ago but the timeless design is still running strong. Tata Motors subsidiary JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) India also offers XJ in India, but the company doesn't offer the hotter XJR. The whole XJ range will be updated and will sport subtle changes that will certainly refresh and lift the car. The refreshed XJ range is expected to hit the world at the Paris Motor Show, October this year.
As far as changes are concerned, the re-freshed XJ series will boost redesigned front and rear bumpers, tweaked grille and slightly moulded boot lid and front hood (not much visible due to the camouflaged). The head and taillights will also receive updates. Interiors are expected to get new upholstery treatment including new wood inserts to spruce things up.
JLR India offers XJ with two engine options a 2.0 liter petrol and 3.0 liter diesel, the petrol churns out 240PS with 340Nm of torque while the oil burner produces 275PS and max torque of 600Nm. Both the engines are matted to an eight-speed automatic transmission. JLR will retain both the motors but expect the nine-speed AT gearbox to drive-in.
