The highlight launch of the past week was the sportier Hyundai Venue N Line while the biggest headlines were about the prices for the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Mahindra XUV400 EV.

Launches Unveilings

• Hyundai Venue N Line Launched: Hyundai has responded to the niche market demand for sportier variants of cars with the introduction of the Venue N Line. The Venue N Line is powered by the same 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine as the regular Venue’s paired to a 7-speed DCT (dual clutch transmission).

• Toyota Hyryder Hybrid Prices: Toyota has filled its compact SUV space with the debut of Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. However, only a few variants’ prices have been released, including the strong hybrid ones. It’s the first in its segment to offer both strong and mild hybrid powertrain options.

• Mahindra XUV 400 Unveiled: Mahindra is making its long-awaited return to the EV space with the XUV400 which has finally been unveiled in its entirety. It is based on the XUV300 and has the same wheelbase but the changes to the rear design have increased its overall length. The electric powertrain has been detailed too with the launch expected in January 2023.

• Citroen C5 Aircross Facelift: Citroen has refreshed its C5 Aircross with new looks inside-out with minor addition to its functionalities.The revisions include updated headlamps and new alloys on the outside, with the newly designed dashboard layout.
• MG Hector Facelift Teased: MG Motors dropped more teasers for the facelifted Hector. The latest teaser reveals images of the new dashboard design featuring the larger central touchscreen. It is slated to be launched towards the end of this year.
• Volkswagen Taigun Anniversary Edition: Volkswagen is commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Taigun with the release of the Taigun Anniversary Edition. It gets a new blue exterior color and a few cosmetic tweaks.

Announcements Updates

• Tata Tiago EV Confirmed: Tata Motors marked World EV Day by announcing plans for the most affordable and entry-level EV on the market. The Tata Tiago EV is expected to go on sale in early 2023.
• Rear Seat Belts To Be Mandatory Soon: Following recent events, the Union Road Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari, said that wearing seat belts in the back seat will become mandatory very soon.
• Dummy Seat Belt Clips Banned: Following the announcement from Nitin Gadkari, dummy seat belt clips are now prohibited as per government regulations. Amazon and Flipkart have removed these products from their websites.
• BYD Expansion Plans: The Chinese automaker plans to expand its dealer network to gain a foothold in India's expanding EV industry. It has opened two new showrooms in Delhi and Mumbai.
