Rolls Royce is all set to launch its new car Dawn, tomorrow. We have been invited to join the company for its first ever global online launch. Images of the car along with its spy shots have been making rounds online and the latest spy shots have confirmed that the convertible car will feature a soft-top roof. Rolls Royce has believed that there is a romantic connection between the soft-top roof and the raindrops that fall on it, this might be the decisive factor for this selection. RR Dawn is an open-top version of the Rolls-Royce Wraith Coupé and will go on sale in the first quarter of 2016 following a debut later this year. The online launch will be broadcasted live from Goodwood and is scheduled to comence at 1400hrs (UK time) or 6:30 pm (IST).
The name ‘Dawn’ dates back to 1949, when it was first used by RR. The car shares its wheelbase with the Wraith and comes in the same two-door layout. The front-end design and gently sloping rear deck are reminiscent of the Ghost styling. Even mechanically, the car is expected to be same as the Wraith and Rolls Royce Dawn is expected to feature the same 624bhp, twin-turbocharged 6.6-litre V12 engine. Instead of following the convention of the Phantom family, Rolls Royce chose to give this car a new name and 'Corniche' was also considered as an alternative. Prices are expected to start at around £250,000.
