Chennai to become largest auto cluster : Jayalalitha

The Indian automarket today is seen as the major section where investment can be made. India at every level is trying to attract the auto major's to come to the Indian market and invest there money here. Recently Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms J. Jayalalithaa also took a step forward for this and had requested all the auto majors to invest in the state of Tamil Nadu. She also put rest to the companies fear of regular power cuts that take place in Tamil Nadu.

The state Government will soon release policies that could attract the auto manufacturing companies, and would help them in opening their manufacturing plants in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Ms J. Jayalalithaa said in the national council of the Confederation of Indian Industry that the Vision document 2025 will fulfill the needs of the companies. While addressing 100 chief executives from top companies she also said that proper steps would be taken to reduce the problem of power shortage in the state. She also added that the State Government support will always be there with the company.

The Government aim at present is to reach a level so that they could be included among the top five places in the international market for largest auto parts manufacturing.

She also addressed them by saying that Tamil Nadu will achieve UN Millennium Development Goals on poverty eradication, education, healthcare, environment sustainability, gender equality and global partnerships till 2015. And even some more steps will be taken to remove poverty and unemployment from the state.

Mr Adi Godrej, President Designate, CII and Chairman of Godrej Group asked the government to make a five year plan that would help the state to get a 10% increase in growth of GDP.These steps taken by the state government would bring new car brands in India and the existing brands with cheaper cars in India.
