Chevrolet Beat diesel to be launched by GM

General Motors, the US automaker, will soon introduce the diesel variant of ‘Chevrolet Beat’ in India. The company had introduced the petrol version of ‘Chevrolet Beat’, the popular compact car of GM, during the Auto Expo in New Delhi.
General Motors India Vice-President P Balendran stated that GM will soon introduce the diesel variant of 'Chevrolet Beat'. Captiva, Optra, Cruze, Aveo, Aveo U-VA, Spark, Chevrolet Beat and Tavera are some of the models of GM which are produced at the Halol manufacturing facility in Gujarat and in Talegaon, Maharashtra.
On the demand for this particular variant of Chevrolet Beat, Balendran commented that the waiting period for 'Beat' is currently around 30-40 days. Further he added that the company's majority of sales were driven by its popular small car 'Spark'. He also said that in comparison to last year sales, the growth this year is 113 per cent. GM has sold 69,579 units of which 30,000 units were Chevrolet Spark models.
