Demand exceeds supply for Popular cars in India

The Indian auto market is growing at a fast pace but the car makers are facing production crunch which is resulting in long wait for its cars. Volkswagen the German auto giant enjoys a cult status in the country owing to its German Technology they affix its cars with. As per the reports, the demand for its sedan Volkswagen Vento and the hatchback Volkswagen Polo, its two popular cars in the Indian auto sector is increasing day by day. Both the offering from the auto giant is available in petrol and diesel variants, which has a waiting time of four to six months. If the customers ask for special addition in the car, it may take some more time.
As per the report from Neeraj Garg, director for Volkswagen Passenger cars, the manufacturing is going as per the plan but the demand is accelerating continuously. The company has taken a step to counter it by coming with a new shift in its pant. But the company is still not sure of reducing the waiting time, due to heavy orderlog expected.
The German marvels introduced these two cars in the beginning of this year that are manufactured at Chakan unit near by Pune and. The two cars are rolled out in the Indian auto market via 61 outlets. As per the reports, it was learned that Volkswagen dealers have been black marketing the cars especially for those who are looking for quicker delivery for its cars. As per the report strict action has been taken against those dealers. The report stated a statement from the official of the company that this type of incident has not happened but if there will be complain against it, the company's authorized personnel will keenly look at the matter.
Apart from the Volkswagen, Toyota Kirloskar with its popular SUV Toyota Fortuner is also facing production issues against high demand. The Toyota Fortuner booking will commence as soon as the company reopens after the annual maintenance shutdown. By January, it looks like the company will open the booking counters but is unable to expand on the production capacity in the Bangalore unit as it produces Toyota Innova.
Maruti the Indian czars are also facing production issues for its winning models Maruti Swift, Maruti Eeco and Maruti Swift Dzire especially for its diesel car models with a waiting time of three to four months. Though, with the beginning of Maruti's new plant it will surely ease out the pressure.
It is a tough fight for the auto giants this time with demands soring high but availability not reaching to the desired amount.
