EcoSport Rival, Chevrolet Niva Patent Images Leaked

Chevrolet Niva, the Ford EcoSport rival has been leaked via the patent images followed by the interior shots of the car. The compact SUV is slated to be launched by 2017 and is most likely to come to India as well. The concept version of the same car was showcased in Moscow Auto Show back in 2014.

Observing the images one can see a lot of EcoSport-ish cues in the car, like the headlamps, the silhouette, tailgate mounted spare wheel and the wraparound rear windscreen. However, the front grille does justice to Chevrolet's design scheme with its hexagonal layout. 

Sneak on the inside shots and you will find typical Chevrolet interiors with all black colour scheme and piano black interiors with hints of chrome. The music system appears to be a basic one and no touchscreen could be observed. Though, these shots are probably not from actual production version and we might see a touchscreen at a later stage. Furthermore, on observing the interiors shot closely, I was not able to find the bonnet extending out just where the front windscreen ends. This might also indicate that this could be only an interior shell made for testing purpose which generally happens in the development phase of a vehicle. 

Other highlights of the car include bold shoulder lines on the exteriors, all around plastic cladding, subtle wheel arches (a signature Chevrolet) and roof rails. On the other hand, the insides will flaunt a sporty instrument cluster and multifunction steering wheel.
