This mid-life update is likely to be limited to cosmetic tweaks and feature additions
-
Second-gen Amaze that launched in 2018 is getting its first facelift this year.
-
Most updates are expected to be cosmetic with a few new features too, sunroof unlikely.
-
The Amaze currently features cruise control and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
-
It will continue to be offered with the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines and transmission options.
-
The facelift is likely to come at a premium over the current price of Rs 6.22 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The second-gen Honda Amaze that was introduced in 2018 is due for a facelift which will be arriving in August 2021. It is probably Honda’s most successful offering in India after City and the update will allow it to compete better against its sub-4m sedan rivals, especially the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
The updates on the facelift are likely to be limited to cosmetic tweaks for the exterior, with new LED headlamps and refreshed bumpers. The Amaze’s interior may get updated upholstery as well as a few new features. Contrary to some reports, a sunroof is unlikely to be part of this update. The Honda sub-4m sedan is currently equipped with creature comforts such as cruise control, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a rear parking camera, and auto AC.
Honda is unlikely to make any mechanical changes to the Amaze for this facelift. It is available with 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines, both with the choice of a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic. The petrol engine makes 90PS/110Nm while the diesel engine produces 100PS/200Nm, but its performance drops to 80PS/160Nm in the automatic variant.
The facelifted Honda Amaze will continue its rivalry against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and Ford Aspire. It will come at a premium over the current price ranging between Rs 6.22 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
