Facelifted i20 N Line is expected to go on sale in the latter half of 2023 at a premium over the existing model.
Barely a week after we spotted the facelifted Hyundai i20 on test in India, the i20 N Line’s refreshed version has been caught on camera for the first time. It was accompanied by regular versions of the updated hatchback as well, with all three sporting partial black covering to hide the design tweaks. The i20 was the first model to get the N Line treatment when the division was introduced in India in 2021.
The New Stuff
Even though the premium hatchback was draped in black camouflage front and rear, its profile showed the same red side skirts as the existing i20 N Line. It was seen with a fresh set of alloy wheels with red brake callipers at the front, the “N” badge in the hubcaps. While one of the regular variants of the i20 seen alongside had steel wheels with covers, the other finished in silver paint featured the new alloy wheel design as noticed on the previous test mule.
Apart from the above-mentioned revisions, the facelifted i20 N Line’s updates are also expected to be in accordance with the changes observed on the recently unveiled Europe-spec facelifted i20, including tweaked bumpers and multi-reflector LED headlights. At the back, the facelifted i20 N Line too could feature a connected LED taillight setup.

Inside Details
While the images only showed the same black upholstery with contrast red stitching in the facelifted i20 N Line’s cabin, another spy image of the regular i20’s cabin gave a glimpse of its dashboard. The latter had paddle shifters and possibly the new 2-spoke steering wheel as seen in the 6th-generation Verna, while also featuring the same dashcam and touchscreen setup on board as seen earlier.
Hyundai could offer the i20 N Line with new equipment such as ventilated front seats and ambient lighting, as expected on the standard model’s updated version. Other features such as wireless phone charging, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, connected car tech and auto climate control are likely to be carried forward. Its safety net will likely include up to six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and a reversing camera.
Turbo-petrol Under The Bonnet
The facelifted i20 N Line is likely to continue with the same 1-litre turbo-petrol engine (120PS/172Nm). It could offer the same 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual) and 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) as offered currently.
Expected Launch And Price
We believe Hyundai could introduce the facelifted i20 N Line in the latter half of 2023, perhaps simultaneously with the facelifted i20. Its prices will likely command a premium over the current model. Its only direct competitor will be the turbo variants of the Tata Altroz.
