Facelifted Premier Rio to launch in October 2011

Recent updates in Indian automobile industry suggest that Indian car giant Premier limited is expected to launch the facelift version of its Premier Rio SUV in the festive season this year. As for now, company is executing upgrades on the SUV and it is going to be ready for launch in October, 2011.

Premier Rio SUV, which was released in October, 2009 will now undergo a facelift, right on second anniversary of its launch i.e. October, 2011. Expected to come affixed with Fiat 1.3 litre Multiject engine under the hood, Premier Rio is going to comply with BSIV emission rules. This car is going to be another addition of Premier limited in the SUVs in India.

It is worth mentioning that good numbers of SUVs are about to hit Indian roads this year and with hike in petrol prices, Indian consumers are drifting towards diesel cars including diesel driven SUVs. Some of the SUVs which are going to enter Indian market within next six months are Renault Koleos and Korean car maker SsangYong’s Kornado and Rexton II which will enter holding Mahindra badge. Moreover, Mahindra Auto is also developing five-seater Mahindra Mini Xylo to run on Indian roads.

As for now, the current version of Premier Rio is being assembled at Premier’s Pune plant and the facelift version is expected to share the space. Furthermore, the existing version of Premier Rio is available in Brick Red, Tafeta White, Sleek Silver, Royal Black and Cool Blue.
