Faraday Future, the American start-up working on the development of intelligent electrical vehicles, has teased its first production vehicle on social media. It has released the image of what appears to be the front end of the car. The American company is financially backed by a Chinese consumer electronics company, LeEco. Yes, the same LeEco whose budget smartphones are popular in the Indian market.

The teased image has an elegant LED headlight line which curves all around, above the front bumper of the car. It also has 'V' pattern grille on the front, featuring Faraday Future's logo. No further details have been revealed. However, the car will be unveiled at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on January 3. It is supposed to be powered by a 98kWh battery which would give it a range of 300 miles (482.2km) on a single charge. Faraday Future claims that its batteries would have the highest energy density. A teaser video featuring the camouflaged car was released earlier and it has also been spotted testing on several occasions. The upcoming car would compete with the existing Tesla Model X and several other upcoming electric cars like the Audi E-Tron and the Mercedes-Benz EQ.

Earlier this year, Faraday Future showcased the FFZERO1 concept at the 2016 CES. It is a fully electric, single-seat supercar with no doors. It has 1000 horsepower (10014PS), a top speed of more than 200mph (320kmph) and goes from standstill to 100kmph in less than three seconds. However, this is just a concept car and the chances of it going into production are low.

Faraday Future has been in a lot of controversies lately. News regarding the financial instability of the company and the halting of the construction of its Nevada manufacturing plant have been doing the rounds for some time. We’ll have to wait until January to see how the first production car turns out.
