Fiat aims to sell 70K cars by 2010
Fiat India Automobiles (FIAL) is very excited after the launch of its Grande Punto in Indian market. The company has decided to sell 70,000 cars by end of 2010. It also claimed to capture 8 per cent of the total passenger car segment by selling over two lakh cars till 2015. Fiat Group Chief Operating Officer (International Operations) Silverio Bonfiglioli said that the company wants to increase the sell by three times during the next five years to cross the figure of two lakh units annually. He added that the Indian car market is expected to touch 25 lakh mark by 2012 and Fiat which sold over 8,000 cars last fiscal, is expecting to capture 8 per cent of the market then.The future of automobile market lies on BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries, which will compensate the slowdown in Europe and the US, Bonfiglioli said.
