After launching the most expensive small car in India, Fiat is thinking over to introduce cheaper and smaller than its existing hatchback Palio. Fiat Group Automobiles International COO Silverio Bonfiglioli told that the car may be rolled out in three years and drive volumes for Fiat. He said that Indian small car market is growing with a super speed and the company wants to grab a major share of it by launching more such cars. He added that the company would launch a new global car designed for the needs of the Indian and other emerging markets. Simultaneously, Fiat has tweaked its product strategy for the local market and will not launch its bigger, expensive cars such as Bravo in India. Other than Grande Punto, Fiat will concentrate on its small car range - Palio and Cinquecento - which was introduced last year. He said Fiat will focus more on locally-produced cars and will introduce several variants of the existing models to increase its market share.
