According to the recent development in the Indian car market, the Italian car manufacturer is now trying to overhaul its production and improve its distribution strategy to have a firm grip over the Indian Auto market. The Italian automaker Fiat intends to launch a face lifted version of Fiat Punto (hatchback) and Fiat Linea (sedan) which will be followed by a small car in India.
As we know that Fiat came to India in 2007 with its joint venture with Tata Motors, to get back-end support and assistance from the company via joint distribution. The company really did not get any benefits from the JV but in 2010-11, Fiat India sales were down 15% to 21,066 units against a capacity of 80,000 units. As a result, Fiat India is thinking to re-furbish its products and improvise the distribution plan so as to increase the sales figures. However, reports further suggest that top officials of Fiat recently visited India to assist the Indian counterparts in touch up Fiats branding in India.
The Italian Auto major is currently holding discussion with the dealers to have separate showrooms so that they can get a identity of their own. However, on this issue, Senior official from Fiat India said that Fiat India intends to have separate dealership showrooms, but company's marketing strategies will get continuous assistance from Tata Motors.
The new cars that are going to be launched in India by Fiat are new versions of small car Fiat Punto and sedan car Fiat Linea. The Fiat Grande Punto with its low bully impenetrable body, strong muscular wheel span, dual-tone dashboard and interiors, emanate boldness and strength would surely be a wonderful splash from Fiat cars in the Indian market. This new Fiat Linea is a perfect fusion of glamor and grace and is abet by supreme performance and functionalities. Besides, its new-age advanced T-Jet engine, its safety features makes it truly admirable car.
