Fiat to Invest $1 Billion For a new Family of Compact Cars Including Linea Replacement

Fiat S.p.A’s turkish joint venture - Tofas will reportedly invent $1 billion for a brand new family of compact vehicles that will include replacement of Bravo hatch, Linea sedan and the discontinued Stilo station wagon. Bravo is discontinued in Europe but is on sale in Brazil while Linea is still sold by Fiat globally including India. The new clan is set to go into production early 2016.
In May, Sergio Marchionne, CEO Fiat Chrysler Group, contemplated that something has to done with the current compact model lineup but till now nothing was stated. But the recent report by Automotive News Europe states Tofaş will invest to a total of $1 billion for a new family of compact vehicles.
About Linea?
The current Linea went on to sale globally in 2007 and was released from Tofaş plant itself. Linea has been preset for almost seven years and ohh boy! the design is timeless - courtesy - Centro Stile Fiat - designing studio. Now, the company will invest for the replacement of the sedan and since the vehicle was based on the Grande Punto, so expect a Punto replacement too! According to the report Linea replacement is likely to go in production in 2016 and indeed will be released by Tofaş.
Adding more on the hatch, Grande Punto mutated globally into Punto EVO while in India, we received the EVO badge recently. Moreover, there were also reports indicating that Punto EVO to be replaced by next-gen 5-door Fiat 500 family of hatch. Speaking of India expect launch, expect the Linea and Punto EVO replacement to enter somewhere in 2016.
