Fiat-Chrysler alliance may bring American car into India. The strategic alliance between Fiat and Chrysler may bring the famed models of the American car maker into India. Fiat Group Chief Operating Officer (International Operations) Filverio Bonfiglioli didn't deny of the possibility. He said that Chrysler brands may be brought here. However, he didn't disclose anything regarding the plan. Avenger, Caliber, Challenger and Viper are the major car brands of Chrysler. Chrysler's truck category includes well-known names from the stable include Dakota and Sprinter.
In the mini vans category, Chrysler has significant presence with brands like Nitro, Durango and Grand Caravan. Fiat would have a 20 per cent equity stake in Chrysler in return for providing technology to manufacture smaller cars is a part of the strategic alliance.
