Ford India plans to launch small car in 2010

Ford India has planned to launch a small car in 2010. The company showcased the prototype, codenamed B517, recently at a dealers meet in Chennai. The small car is expected to compete with the Maruti Swift and the Hyundai I20.
The company is also planning to launch the new Ford Endeavour to taken on Toyota Fortuner which is expected to be launched this month. The small car will be a 4-door hatchback and will be powered by an indigenous diesel engine manufactured at its Chennai plant. The company is also stepping up focus on export markets such as Asia-Pacific and Africa. Ford India's portfolio also includes the Ford Fiesta sedan and the Ford Fusion car.
