According to a report, Ford India will be launching its much famed muscle car, the Mustang on January 28. Earlier, it was expected that Ford will launch the Mustang in the upcoming Auto Expo.
First generation of the Mustang was launched in 1964 and this is the American's sixth generation now. It is expected that the Mustang will be launched with a choice of three engine options, a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine producing 305bhp, a 3.7 V6 developing 300bhp, and the classic 5.0-litre V8 engine that churns out 420bhp of power. Buyers will also be able to choose from a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic variant. The pricing is expected to start from the 50 Lac mark.
Major highlight of the sixth generation Mustang is that it features a new IRS system (Independent Rear Suspension). Along with this, the new Mustang is also the first version which comes with factory designed right-hand-drive export model to be sold in overseas market. Mustang will also be rich in features. We expect a sync 3 infotainment system, automatic wipers, start/stop button and adaptive cruise control. The top end variant might get the 390 watt Shaker Pro Audio system which has 12 speakers including an eight-inch subwoofer.
