Ford records sales growth of 184 percent in 2010

2010 is the year of celebration for Ford as its Ford Figo bagged `the Indian car of the Year award (ICOTY 2011). Moreover Ford marked an exciting annual sales hike of 184% for the year 2010. Starting from January to December 2010, Ford was able to sell as many as 83, 887 units and the sales volume tripled in number against as the 29,488 units sold in the year 2009.

172 % hike was observed in the Dec sales of Ford India as compared to that of year 2009. The end of this successful year also brought up an innovative move from the company where a unique sales promotion was introduced by the name 'Midnight Sale' which was able to register record bookings on a single day. During this midnight sale, the Ford showrooms were kept open late untill midnight and many attractive games and other interesting offerings were added to attract customers at a large scale. The late night availability of these models for bookings made it convenient for consumers to place their orders.

Indian Car of the Year 2011' was honoured to none other than people’s favourite Ford Figo by a leading jury of automobile journalists. This didnt put an end to company’s remarkable success as it also received honors like `Best Premium Hatch' for Ford Figo. Addressing the big occasion, Boneham commented that the company was able to register this big success through its famous model Ford Figo and the company is delighted to flaunt this model in its portfolio.

Ford has held a strong position with 60000 cars sold in India. Other spectacular products include Ford Endeavour, Ford Ikon and Ford Fiesta all making good progress in respective segment.
