Ford India is finally jumping on the compact sedan band wagon with the Figo Aspire tomorrow. The Swift Dzire slayer is late to the party but packs astonishing features and mechanicals to take on the entire segment by storm. We know everything about it except the price and if you’re late to the segment you need to price your vehicle right against the established players. And it is expected that Ford will undercut the Swift Dzire in terms of pricing while they have already excelled Dzire in terms of features and for that matter everyone too.

What to look for in the Aspire?

In the pool of absurd looking sub-4m sedan, Aspire is surprisingly good looking and has certainly took the crown from the Tata Zest as the best looking car in the segment. Apart from few angles, it just doesn’t look ugly and the Ford’s Aston Martin inspired nose is just brilliant to look at
It is borrowing the 1.5-liter TDCi diesel from the EcoSport/Fiesta, however, it is getting the updated form of it before the rest two. Making it the torquiest (215 Nm) diesel in its class and is also one of the most powerful engines in the segment with 100 PS on tap
Aspire also offers the most powerful petrol too in the segment - 1.5-liter TiVCT petrol with 6-speed dual clutch automatic (the gearbox is similar to the likes of VW DSG auto boxes)
Aspire offers segment standard dual-front airbags while the top-end also offers class first 6-airbags
It is getting Ford’s SYNC infotainment system with voice controls and AppLink smartphone integration. Moreover, apart from the 6-airbags it also offers Emergency Assistance with the SYNC which calls for help (108) in an event of any mishap through the connected phone
The cabin is dual-tone black and beige with piano black and chrome highlights and comes with segment-first leather upholstery
