General Motors could sell Opel yet again
The eminent American car manufacturer, General Motors is all ready and equipped to support the European Opel and ready to put up for sale yet again. This info was provided by the media reports of Germany. As per the reports by Auto Build and Spiegel Online, Chinese car manufactures or may be the Volkswagen could be the best possible buyers.
If reports are to be believed, both Volkswagen and Opel declined all the reports that were buzzing the global auto market. There was also a gossip in the year of 2009, that General Motors plunged the plan to give a makeover to Opel. It then had boarded on an extreme reshuffling to get back the unit, which faced a great loss of around $1.6 billion during last year. But now it is back on track.
According to the grapevine, the work council of Opel recently told the media that all the buzz about the spin off and loss was a total rumor and it insisted on getting a denunciation from the parent firm, General Motors. Another thing that reports mentioned was that GM has till now kept the Opel as there are chances to lose technology and some more reasons.
Nonetheless, selling Opel to some other car manufacturer is not a good idea. Opel is quite closely collaborated to General Motors's worldwide operations on its technology and the automobile platforms. So now, General Motors will try to collaborate with some other European car manufacturer to cut down the cost factor, where German Volkswagen and Chinese car makers seem the best options. Last Thursday, General Motors shares stopped up at 2% elevated.
