General Motors marks 16 percent hike in Middle East sales for first quarter

The American automobile manufacturer is working hard towards improving its presence on globe and a sign of strong hold in Asia is already on its first quarter report. The Chinese auto market is one of its strongest destinations in Asia. With the end of March the company has been reporting a commendable first quarter in the Middle East.
The reports have quoted General motors to have reached a sales figure of 11,651 cars in the beginning of first quarter with its brand names Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC. With this figure the company has reached a hike of 13 per cent as against that of March figures.
The report also stated that March performance was a double digit growth consecutively for the fourth year. With this growth a total of 29,870 cars were sold by the company in its first quarter which was a straight jump of 16 percent as against that of last year. As far as the sales made to individual customers is concerned, a jump of 50% was observed in the month of March and it further increased by 40% in the first quarter. Coming to the retail sales, a remarkable growth of 72% was observed in the month of March whereas the first quarter showed a total of 69% jump.
As per the reports, John Stadwick who is the President and Managing Director of GM Middle East Operations stated that in the month of March 2011, the company was able to register a good growth in the Middle East along with that the first quarter is also started with commendable progress. He also said that the growth of the company is achieved despite of unusual unrest in the region along with and the catastrophic earthquake in Japan. among the most successful cars of the company are Chevrolet Beat and Chevrolet Cruze which registered a good sales for General Motors.
