GM eyes selling 7,500 units of Beat every month

General Motors India launched the much hyped Chevrolet Beat Diesel last month in the Indian car market. The deisel version of the highly popular Chevrolet Beat hatchback was eagerly awaited by the Indian customers and has received an unprecedented response within a week of its launch. GM India is in the process to introduce the zippy hatchback in various cities across India. GM is expecting to sell a whopping 7,500 units of Chevrolet Beat in India on monthly basis. The company managed to sell 5225 units of Chevrolet Beat in the month of July and with the Chevrolet Beat Diesel already in the Indian car market, GM India expects to accelerate the sales volume.

GM India is also thinking to introduce the Sail Twins which might be unveiled at the much awaited Auto Expo 2012. With the sluggish demand contributing towards the plunge in the car sales in India, the car makers eye rolling out new car in India. Along with the new cars the companies are also working towards bringing the diesel variants of their popular models in the Indian car market.

The car sales in India is expected to slump further with the continually rising fuel prices coupled with the rising interest rates. These two factors have left a heavy dent on the growth of the domestic market which achieved great heights last fiscal.

Rise in petrol prices have deviated consumers towards the diesel options available in the market, as a result of which in the coming time the Indian car market will witness launch of diesel cars in India. GM is said to be mulling over the possibility to launch diesel variants of its hatchback Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Aveo U-VA. Chevrolet Spark is a major player of Chevrolet in India and has been able to contribute majorly towards the sales figure off late. The diesel model of Spark could also play as a game changer and help fuelling sales of GM India.
