GM India's January sales doubled

General Motors India, a subsidiary of US based General Motors has registered a growth of more than 100 percent in its sales of last month. The company sold 9,421 units of its vehicles in India compare to only 3,937 vehicles in sale period last year. In a statement company further elaborated that its January sales includes 3,477 units of the hatchback Chevrolet Spark and 686 units of the newly-launched sedan Chevrolet Cruze.
General Motors India recently launched its famous small hatchback Chevrolet Beat in the country which has become quite popular and registering good sales in India. According to a company statement it has sold 2,825 units of Chevrolet Beat model in India. The main reason behind the success of the Chevrolet Beat model in India is its competitive price and attractive features. Company has launched the Beat model with in the price range of Rs Rs 334,990 to Rs 394,990 (x-showroom Delhi). Company's January sales also includes 434 units of its premium hatchback Chevrolet Aveo U-Va, 364 units of the entry-level sedan Aveo, 1,512 units of the MUV Chevrolet Tavera and 51 units of the SUV Chevrolet Captiva.
Talking about the company's good performance in the last months sales Mr P Balendran, vice-president of General Motors India said, introduction of two best-in-segment cars, increased customer outreach through distribution network, our unique value proposition like Chevrolet Cashless Offer on the Spark are the factors that have led to this month-by-month escalating growth rates.
