GM to increase pre-owned car business in India
General Motors India intended to increase its used car business over five-fold in the country. GM India President and Managing Director Karl Slym said that the company didn't set any target for pre-owned car business but the sale of used cars should not be less than 40 per cent of the new car sales at an outlet. He added that GM would be extending the 3-year/one lakh km warranty to used car owners as well. The cars offered through these outlets would go through a 110-point checklist by GM India trained engineers, a besides a detailed history check, he added.
He said that right now the company has 203 outlets in the country and it to touch to 250 mark by the year end. Of these outlets, majority would come up in rural and semi urban areas.
