Over the past year, we have seen model launches, generational updates, facelifts, and even brand new cars. For the most part, though, the focus has been on SUVs, including the Tata Safari, Mahindra Thar, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite. 

If you are planning to buy any of the new cars, here’s how long you’ll have to wait: 

Mahindra Thar

• In Mumbai and Delhi, you’ll have to wait more than a year to get the Mahindra Thar. 

• The shortest waiting period, which is still quite high, is seen in Jaipur and Kolkata.

Nissan Magnite

• The Magnite’s waiting period has come down over the months, with the manufacturer ramping up production. 

• Hyderabad experiences the highest waiting period among all the metro cities. 

• Delhi and Mumbai have the lowest waiting period of around a month. 

Renault Kiger

• The Renault Kiger demands a shorter waiting period than the Magnite. 

• Jaipur and Kolkata have no waiting period at all. 

• People in Delhi will have to wait the longest, up to two months. 

Hyundai i20

• There’s no waiting period for the Hyundai i20 in Delhi and Kolkata. 

• The highest waiting time is observed in Bangalore, up to three months. 

Tata Safari

• The Tata Safari is available with an average waiting period of around 1.5 months. 

• The shortest waiting period is seen in Kolkata and Chennai, while the highest is in Jaipur. 

Maruti Suzuki Swift

• Maruti Swift faces no waiting period in Hyderabad and Jaipur, and as low as a week in Kolkata and Mumbai. 

• The highest waiting time is seen in Delhi, up to two months. 

Kia Sonet

• Cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, and Chennai face a waiting period of up to five months. 

• The Kia Sonet sees no waiting period in Delhi. 

Kia Seltos

• Most metro cities have a waiting period of up to five months. 

• Again, Delhi is the only city where you can get the Kia Seltos immediately. 

MG Hector

• The MG Hector demands an average waiting period of up to 2.5 months. 

• The highest waiting time is in Delhi and Bangalore, while there’s no waiting in Kolkata. 

Tata Altroz

• Tata Altroz sees the highest waiting period in Bangalore and Jaipur, of up to 3 months. 

• You’ll get the hatchback the earliest in Delhi and Mumbai.
