Here’s Your First Look At The Connected LED Taillights On The Facelifted Tata Safari

The bookings for the updated Tata Safari will start from October 6

• The Tata Safari facelift will get the welcome animation with the LED tailights as seen on the updated Tata Nexon.

• It will also feature the updated rear bumper with a more prominent skid plate.

• Inside, it is expected to feature the new 2-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo.

• To retain the same 2-litre diesel engine, and may also get the option of a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine.

• Expected to be launched in November 2023 from Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

After the recent launch of the updated Tata Nexon and Nexon EV, the automaker is now gearing up to introduce the Tata Safari facelift in 2023 itself. Tata has begun releasing new teasers of the SUV ahead of its launch, revealing fresh design details. Bookings for the updated Tata Safari are set to open on October 6.

What We Saw In The Teaser

The video teaser provides a clear look at the rear design of the facelifted Safari, which now features connected LED taillamps with a welcome animation, similar to what is seen on the updated Tata Nexon and Tata Nexon EV. Additionally, the font used for the Safari badge has been revised.

The teaser of the Safari facelift also reveals revised bumper design with a more prominent skid plate, as well as new trapezoidal housings on both sides. Besides these changes, the overall shape and the design of the taillamp housing appear similar to the current version of the Tata Safari.

Features To Expect

Inside, the Tata Safari facelift will likely feature a new 2-spoke steering with illuminated Tata logo from the new Nexon. The updated SUV is also expected to come with a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, a bigger digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, auto climate control, and ventilated front and rear seats.

In terms of safety, the facelifted SUV will likely get six airbags as standard, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and ISOFIX anchor points. The current Tata Safari already features advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), but with the update, it could be further enhanced with the addition of adaptive cruise control.

Same Diesel Engine

The 2023 Tata Safari will likely retain the existing 2-litre diesel engine which makes 170PS and 350Nm, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. However with the update, the Safari might also get the option of a new 1.5-litre T-GDi (turbo) petrol engine (170PS and 280Nm).

Expected Price Rivals

The Tata Safari facelift is expected to go on sale in November, and could be priced from Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. It will continue its rivalry with the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus and the Hyundai Alcazar.
