Honda and Hyundai sales up in December

Honda Siel Cars India and Hyundai Motors India Limited ended the year with growth figures in sales in December 2008. Both the companies, Honda Siel Cars and Hyundai Motors were benefitted by the new vehicle launches, price cuts and discounts offered on their various models.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. reported that they records an overall 55.75% sales up in the month of December 2008. The domestic sales figure grew up by 19.3% and export figures marked whopping 97% growth compared to December 2007. Hyundai Motors sold 38,402 units in the month of December 2008, where 15,602 units were sold in the Indian market as compared to 13,078 units sold in December 2007. Hyundai recently launched i10 and i20 marked the highest sales in the domestic market along with Hyundai Getz and its flagship model, Hyundai Santro.

Honda Siel Cars India records 9% growth as its sales figures basked in the glory of launch of the new Honda City ZX. Honda Siel Cars India sold 3667 units in the month of December 2008 as compared to 3363 units sold in December 2007. It sold 2,972 units of the new Honda City ZX, 386 units of Civic, 171 units of Accord and 132 unit of CR-V.
