Honda Brio Diesel Spotted Yet Again

Earlier, we reported that Honda Brio Diesel version was spotted doing test rounds near Gurgaon, yet again it was caught in lens, and this time it was near company's own facility based near to Delhi. This clearly shows Honda's intention to at last come up with the diesel based version of its cars, in order to bridge the much needed gap, which has kept it a little behind in competition in terms of total number of sales. Honda demonstrated an all new 1.6-litre, i-DTEC diesel engine at the Geneva Motor Show 2012 for the first time, since then we all are eagerly waiting Honda to bring in the diesel version of its cars, which now seems to happen very shortly. One after the other test rounds of Honda Brio Diesel version has made us believe that India will soon see its launch.

Various websites have claimed that the diesel version of Honda Brio will come by Diwali, but our sources have confirmed that it is the Honda Brio's Automatic Tranmission version, which is to come first not diesel, so the Diesel version should come in by the early next year. Since the company will be aiming to avail the subsidy , so the coming diesel engine can get even smaller than 1.5-litre, and the similar engine can be used in Honda Jazz as well soon after. The engine will be based on the 1.6-litre i-DTEC EarthDream engine. One more model, which is expected to turn diesel from the stables of Honda India will be the Honda City, which has been the top selling petrol model in its segment, so we can expect the number of sales to get even huge once it comes in diesel, which is the need of the hour.
