As we reported earlier that Honda motor company is planning to return to Formula One. Now, the company has confirmed that it will return to Formula One as an engine supplier to the McLaren F1 team in 2015. Since 2008, the Japanese auto giant didn't appear in the F1 race, in a call to cut down costs during the economic slowdown, which disturbed the exports to the US and European Nations.

McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh in a press conference in Japan confirmed the renewing of a partnership which had won many championships during their time together. "I am delighted to announce that Honda and McLaren will soon begin a new chapter of our legendary Formula 1 partnership," said Whitmarsh.

McLaren and Honda in partnership won 44 GPs and eight world championships during the 80s and the 90s. He further added that, "Together in 1988 we created the most successful Formula 1 car of all time, the all conquering McLaren-Honda MP4/4, which was driven to victory 15 times out of 16 by Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost".
