Honda envisages full production capacity utilisation in India

Honda India envisages making use of the full production capacity at their manufacturing facilities of 100,000 units per annum. This is to bring the production of the cars in tandem with the demand, which is expected to increase drastically with the recent launch of Honda Brio. Honda India has placed the Honda Brio price most competitively to ward off the competition among its contenders. To incur more profits, Honda India foresees to increase the localization of Honda Brio car from present 80% to 90% by 2012.

Mr Seki Inaba, Director (Sales and Marketing) of Honda Siel Cars India Ltd had informed that its Japanese counterpart is currently considering various options for new car launches in India. In a way to gear up to the probable launches, Honda India intends to ramp up the production to full capacity at their manufacturing facilities. The Honda Brio price in Andhra Pradesh is pegged in the range of Rs 4.04-Rs 5.09 lakhs for its variants – Honda Brio S MT, Honda Brio E MT, Honda Brio S(O) MT and Honda Brio V MT. Honda India is expecting the sales volumes of 5000 units a month for the small car. Few other cars offered by Honda Motors in India are Honda City, Honda Civic,Honda Accord and Honda CR-V.
