Honda Siel to expand sales network

With an idea of increasing the sales network before the launch of its latest invent Honda Brio,Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) is all set for expansion. The joint venture of Japan's Honda Motor and Siddharth Shriram Group Company Siel is now planning to switch to Tier-II and Tier-III cities to create prospective network before the launch of Brio in the end of third quarter.

As per sources, company had already marked the presence in Ambala, Mandi, Rohtak and Coonoor, and planning to expand up to 25 more outlets in a year. HSCI's marketing director, Seki Inaba, said that Honda Brio is an importance car for their company and it is going to assist them in increasing the customer base in Indian market. He further added that the company wants to target the consumers living in the interior of the country with this hatchback segment car.

Senior vice-president (sales marketing), HSCI, Jnaneswar Sen commented that 50 percent of company's sales figures are acquired by high end cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad. He further said that since the remaining portion of sales comes from 69 cities, the prospects from the remaining portion are quite high. So, the potential to increase sales from the rest of the country is huge.

As per reports, currently the price range of HSCI's cars like small segment Honda Jazz, sedan segment cars like Honda City, Honda Civic and Honda Accord, and SUV Honda CR-V is from Rs 7.1 lakh to Rs 26.4 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Inaba added that the pricing of Honda cars is a bit higher than its competitors since the company delivers uniqueness in their products. As of now company has 125 sales centers in 77 Indian cities. As per speculations, Honda Brio is going to bear a price tag of Rs 5 lakh, and it will be the cheapest car from the Honda's fleet. Moreover, since the car will be manufactured in Honda's Greater Noida manufacturing unit in Uttar Pradesh, it will utilize 80 percent of locally manufactured parts.
