Honda to develop a new Hybrid System for larger cars

Honda Motors, Japan based leading car maker announced on Friday that it has managed to develop a new hybrid system for big cars. Mr Tomohiko Kawanabe, chief operating officer of automobile RD, Honda Motors announced that the company has left the research process and now entered in the development field of the of the a new hybrid system for larger cars.

Honda Motors is all set to launch its new gasoline based electric cars including Insight and the CR-Z by next week. The gasoline based electric vehicles uses a single electric motor system which is quite different from the Toyota Motor Corp's two-motor system used in Toyota Prius model. Though new hybrid system of the Honda Motors is simpler and cheaper compare to its rival Toyota's Hybrid system but it traisl in fuel efficiency compare to Toyota's hybrid system.

Though the company hasn't disclosed the timing of the launch of the new hybrid system but it is expected that it will possibly be launched in the period of 3 years. Company is also working on a small diesel engine, as in many developing markets like India and Europe demand of the diesel engine is rising rapidly. Currently Honda doesn't has any diesel run vehicle in India though it is expected that it will launch a 2.2 litre diesel engine with Honda Accord model in the country soon.
