Honda to unveil three new concept cars at Tokyo Motor show

In tandem with the growing demand for the alternative fuel technology of late, Honda Motors is said to showcase three new concept cars at the 2012 Tokyo Motor show. The medium engine sports concept car AC-X with a hybrid engine, a small lightweight EV sports car and another city car based on the Renault –Twizzy are in the Honda line-up to be unveiled to amuse the masses in Japan.

Elaborating slightly on the upcoming concept cars, the new electronic small sports car is designed to comply with the latest low emission requirements for encouraging the greener environment at the same time offers a pleasurable driving experience. In describing the small sports car, the company official said that they are veering away from the concept where the high power output is used to gauge the performance of the car. Of late, more importance is given to the weight to power ratio, which boosts efficiency of the car as the lightweight car improves the fuel efficiency by far.

By any means, they are not concentrating on developing a car with the performance factor equalling the Ferrari, but prowess lies in evolving a car with high efficiency. The Concept AC-X car will have a hybrid engine with car dimensions between that of Honda Accord and Honda Civic. The car will be offered with two drive select modes with the adjustments in the engine and transmission, ‘automatic mode’ for the pleasure of driving in a relaxed mood and the ‘engine mode’ for a quick-paced drive. The car is expected to be launched in the markets like China, Japan and the US in 2012. The third concept car is the unique Micro commuter sharing the similarities with the Renault-Nissan PIVO 3 , with the 1+3 layout. The impressive details come in form of the car with the storage capacity for a mini bike from Honda, an electric folding bike apart from a detachable battery.
