The Creta N Line offers many cosmetic sporty changes inside and out, and a manual option for the turbo engine. Still, we feel it might appeal only to a certain type of buyer. Here’s why
The Hyundai Creta is now available with the sportier N Line treatment in India. The Creta N Line features numerous changes over the regular SUV, but is only available with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that’s offered in the regular Creta. Let’s take a closer look at the differences between the Creta N Line and its standard version, and figure out which version is suited for what type of buyer, starting with the design.
Exterior Design
Hyundai’s approach to the Creta N Line is the same as to its other N Line cars like the i20 and Venue. This includes N Line-specific colour options, a redesigned grille with the Hyundai logo placed on the grille instead of the bonnet, larger 18-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers, and a bigger roof-integrated rear spoiler. Hyundai has also added “N Line” badgings and red accents all around, along with a dual-tip exhaust that reminds us of the pre-facelift Creta’s turbo-petrol variants. All of this gives the Creta N Line a far sportier presence over its regular counterpart.
But the regular Creta has its own design and personality. The facelifted SUV, which was launched earlier this year, came with a lot of changes compared to the older model, especially at the front and rear. The connected LED DRLs, connected taillights, butch new grille and overall squarish design gives it a more mature look with a modern appeal.
Different Cabins
Another major difference between the Creta and the Creta N Line is in their cabin experience. The Creta N Line’s sportiness is even more prominent on the inside, especially thanks to its all-black cabin with red inserts on the dashboard and the upholstery. You can spot these red inserts on the N Line-specific gear knob and steering wheel as well. This version also gets sporty leatherette seats with “N” branding.
You also get sporty red accents on the dashboard along with red ambient lighting.
In the regular Creta the design of the cabin is the same but finished in a white shade, which gives a minimalistic and spacious look. It also gets leatherette seats but without the red accents and “N” branding of the N Line.
No New Features
The Creta N Line does not get any new creature comforts and still offers the same features as the top-end variants of the regular Creta. This includes a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, 8-speaker Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, and a wireless phone charger. You do get one extra feature in the base-spec Creta N Line N8: a dual-camera dash camera, a piece of safety equipment that allows you to capture both the road and the cabin while driving. This footage can be useful in case of an accident.

In terms of safety, you get six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a host of ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), including lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto emergency braking.

The Hyundai Creta N Line is available in 2 broad variants: N8 and N10. Unlike the regular Creta which offers the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine only in the top-spec variant, the N Line version makes this engine available in both its variants. The Creta N Line carries a justifiable premium of up to Rs 30,000 over the corresponding variant of the regular Hyundai Creta. The availability of the turbo-petrol engine with a manual transmission option makes it a lot more affordable too.
Verdict
So, which one should you buy? If you want a sporty looking compact SUV with serious road presence, gives you a sporty feel inside the cabin, and comes with a proper manual transmission with the turbo-petrol engine, then you should definitely go for the Hyundai Creta N Line. It will offer you the segment-best performance of the turbo-petrol engine with the experience of the manual transmission. While there are others that offer similar powertrain setups, like the Kia Seltos, the Creta N Line will make a clear distinction between you and any other compact SUV on the road.
But if sporty looks or driving feel are not your top priority, and you prefer the driving convenience of a DCT automatic, then going for the regular Creta will be the better option. Not only is it more affordable, you also get more engine options. It also has a modern and premium design with the same list of features as the N Line model.
