Gone are the days when Hyundai was only synonymous as a cheap car manufactuer. Over a period of time the Korean car manufacturer has undergone a transformation leaving big players in the car industry awestruck in appreciation, which is now set to reach out for the top car manufacturer slot globally.
Hyundai Motors gives a majority of credit to its compatriot and subsidiary Kia Motors for this overwhelming success and hopes to win the battle together setting up a high target of 7 million unit sales for the year 2012. It is time to rewind back into history when Hyundai Motors was literally struggling to gain entry into the American car market.
The Korean car manufacturer had to confront many barriers to reach the position where it stands today, which nothing but its own making putting a constant effort to produce more fuel efficienct and attractive cars to meet the customer expectations.
Not breathing a sigh of relief with its journey so far, the car manufacturer hopes to continue its growth story investing a sum of $ 4.4 billion in R&D to reach the depths that are yet to be explored in attaining the ultimate products to be the leader in fuel efficient cars combined with new 'Fluidic' design philosophy, which could be its stepping stone to success.
Now, this brings us to the Kia Picanto spotted in India some time back. Does Hyundai India feature Kia Picanto model or rather any of the Kia cars among its growth plans globally. Because Hyundai Motors seems to be one determined horse to reach what it is set out for. And making it to the top three positions as a car manufacturer doesn’t seem to be far away by the looks of it.
The Hyundai-Kia duo which surpassed its own targets in 2011 with 6.6 million unit sales had put up an amazing show at the Auto Expo with some interesting concepts and new cars Hyundai Hexa Space MPV concept, Hyundai Veloster, new Hyundai Sonata and new Hyundai Elantra thoroughly carrying the Fluidic lineage forward.
