The global supply disruption and material shortages are the primary reasons for the delay
We had recently reported that Maruti Suzuki was yet to deliver close to four lakh orders to waiting customers. Although not exactly in the same alarming situation, Hyundai India is also in the same boat, facing a backlog of orders, which is currently towering up to 1.35 lakh.
Reason For The Hold Up
The surge in this number is because of multiple factors including the global supply issues, disruptions and material shortages, and a slew of new launches as well. Hyundai’s new launches consist of the Venue N Line, fourth-gen Tucson, and facelifted Venue.
The Wait Game
Almost all cars from Hyundai India’s stable, including both new launches and popular models, such as the Creta, Venue and Venue N Line, and Tucson are enduring large wait times. For reference, the Creta is witnessing a maximum waiting period of up to nine months in New Delhi. Buyers in cities like New Delhi and Kolkata picking the Tucson will have to wait up to five months. In case you want to buy the Venue, i20 and i20 N Line, be prepared to wait up to five months.
