Hyundai India's sales jumped by 27.3% in March

Hyundai India, country's largest car exporter and second largest car maker, has reported a sales increase of 27.3% in the sales of month of March this year as compare to the same period of previous year. In March 2010, company managed to sell 31,501 units of its cars in India as compare to 24,754 units sold in the same month last year.

On the other hand the exports of the company from India in March 2010, stood at 23,534 units as compare to the 21,405 units exported in March, 2009, accounted for a sales increase of 9.9%. Total sales of the company stood at 55,035 units as compared to 46,159 units sold in the same period of last year, accounted for 19.2% cumulative growth.

If we take a look at the segment wise sales than, the A2 segment which includes cars like Hyundai Santro Xing, Hyundai i10, Hyundai Getz & Hyundai i20, registered sales figure of 50,715 units. While the sales of A3 segment which includes Hyundai Accent and Hyundai Verna, was 4,276 units. The A5 segment (Sonata Transform) sales were 44 units in this period.

In the first quarter of this year (January to March) Hyundai India registered a growth of 33.5% with total sales of 162,273 as compare to the 121,565 units sold last year in same period. In the whole financial year (April 2009 to March 2010) Hyundai India sold 600,588 units as compare to the 497,206 units sold in preceding financial year, accounted for a sales growth of 20.8%.
