In order to enhance its model lineup, Hyundai India is now planning to launch the new SUV lookalike i20 Active crossover. Since the launch is approaching, the automaker has revealed the sketches of its upcoming new model which hints towards an aggressive body design. Based on the company’s ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ design language, the i20 Active when launched will lock horns with the likes of Fiat Avventura, Toyota Etios Cross and Volkswagen Cross Polo.
Hyundai i20 Active is designed at Hyundai Motor’s Design Centre Europe in Rüsselsheim, Germany. The company also announces that the i20 Active will make official Global debut in the Indian market in the month of March 2015.
Talking about the aggressive styling, the front gets skid plates with side profile flaunting black side cladding. The rear gets Elite i20’s taillamp with newly designed rear foglamps and neatly placed reverse gear light. On the feature list, the car gets projector headlamps, roof rails, roof spoiler, LED DRLs and is also likely to ride on 17-inch alloy wheels.
Engine specs are most likely to remain same of the outgoing Elite i20 hatch and we believe the car will be made available in both the fuel trims. If the petrol model is launched, it will house 1.2 Dual VTVT Kappa petrol engine churning a power out of 82bhp and torque of 115Nm. While the diesel model will get the 1.4 U2 CRDi with figures of 89bhp with peak torque of 220Nm..
