Hyundai Sonata facelift to go on sale next year

It is well-known that Hyundai Motors has 10-15 new cars lined up to introduce in the Indian car market in next 5 years. Out of the proposed launches, many of them are expected to  be the revamped versions of the existing cars. New Hyundai Sonata is another car apart from Hyundai Avante among the flurry of launches that are to take place in 2012. For some unforeseen reason, probably due to the high price of the car, Hyundai Sonata hasn’t been able to drive sales volumes in the country. However, the Korean auto major now anticipates the same car in the new version to bring a positive shift in sales among D-segment cars.

2012 Hyundai Sonata price is likely to see a major shift in the range of Rs 17.5 – 20 lakhs. With its intricate design supremacy, the new sedan is expected to challenge the strong competitors in the segment like , Honda Accord, Skoda Superb, Maruti Suzuki Kizashi and Nissan Teana. While retaining the style factor that appeals to many, the new Hyundai Sonata is likely to adorn the Hyundai specific ‘Fluidic’ design to enthral the consumers. Moreover, the new sedan is expected to leave the consumers spell-bound with the sparkling black interiors, endowed with some similarities with Maruti Suzuki Kizashi. On an overview, the new Sonata is likely to be a showstopper and said to be a deviation from the outgoing model with a plethora of remarkable changes making its ways into the new sedan.

However, the 2.0 L Santa Fe diesel engine is also included as a possibility in the equation combined with either a 6-speed automatic gearbox with the essential paddle shifters or a 6-speed manual gearbox is a strong possibility.
