This is probably the Honda Jazz effect, Hyundai will offer touch and navigation enabled system in the Elite i20 starting next month, the i20 Active could also get one!
Hyundai Motors will reportedly equip the top variants of Elite i20 with touchscreen infotainment system with built-in navigation from July. Intentionally or coincidentally, this is the same month in which Elite i20’s biggest rival Honda Jazz is making its re-launch in the market and will offer the same!
However, in Feb this year, with the launch of the i20 Coupe in UK, Hyundai started offering touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation in the i20 hatch there too. And it was expected to be introduced in India, but somehow Jazz’s launch has fueled for its early entry! So Jazz and Elite i20 are the only cars in the segment to offer factory fitted touch-enabled system.
Hyundai is expected to borrow this system from its UK counterpart, there i20 offers a 7-inch touchscreen system (see the images above) with built-in satellite navigation, radio, CD and Bluetooth connectivity. The Elite i20 will get an edge over Jazz’s 6.1-inch touchscreen unit if Hyundai introduces the 7-inch system from UK. Moreover, the Elite i20’s crossover sibling i20 Active is also expected to be offered with touch screen Infotainment system.
Further, the soon to be launched Tata Zica will be coming with plethora of features and plush interiors, however, if Tata Zica Price is set aggressively, it could eat-up a good chunk of i20's sales.
