As a successor to last year’s special edition D-Max Blade model, ISUZU has released this year special model, though only for the UK market. This new exclusive version gets styling enhancements and technology updates. These include a ‘Shadow’ grey front grille and matching garnish and a distinctive Cosmic Black finish to door mirror caps, door handles and tailgate handles.
Powering the Blade is the same 2.5 litre twin-turbo diesel unit that is seen in every other D-Max. The engine develops 160bhp of maximum power and peak torque of 400Nm. The D-Max Blade has a towing capability of 3.5-tonnes (braked) and can be ordered with a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic gearbox. For added style and performance, the Blade 18-inch, 6-spoke ‘Shadow’ alloy wheels wear 255/60 R18 section Pirelli Scorpion Zero tyres.
Step inside and you are greeted with premium and heated leather seats along with a ‘Shadow’ grey headlining. Unique side-sill scuff plates and unique carpet mats featuring ‘Blade’ graphics combine with Piano Black interior highlights add to the premium appeal to this top-of-the-line D-Max. Entertainment duties are done by a superior 8 speaker audio and state-of-the-art Pioneer 6.1-inch touch screen navigation system, that also doubles as the integrated rear safety camera, to enhance infotainment and greater driver convenience. The Blade will get a Cosmic Black colour theme as standard, with the option of a new-for-2015 Pearlescent White finish.
