As we reported earlier, British luxury sports car manufacturer Jaguar recently claimed that it has achieved an all-new level of performance with the unveiling of its Jaguar SVR sports car.  SVR made its debut at the recently culminated 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Adding to the promotions of Jaguar’s most powerful series production car, the company has gone ahead and enlisted Michelle Rodriguez to put its updated car to the test. The Fast and the Furious star managed to achieve an indicated top speed of 201 mph in the F-type SVR, which is impressive, considering the fact that the claimed top speed of Jaguar SVR is 200 mph.

The test took place on a closed highway in Nevada. Commenting on this achievement, Michelle said, “Driving this car was insane! I've now broken my personal speed record in the beautiful Jaguar F-Type SVR."  She further added that "Reaching 201 mph felt amazing; the car drove really smoothly, all my corrections were minimal, I was super focused, and it really reacted in all the right ways. I don't think I'd ever go this fast without a professional driver seated next to me, but oh man, it was an incredible feeling.”

Though, aesthetically, SVR is not  too different from standard sports cars, it still does incorporate certain updates, such as the aerodynamic package, and comes with an anti-roll bar, active rear wing (made up of carbon fibre), updated chassis, wider tyres, Inconel exhaust system, rear venturi, carbon fibre roof panel, and flat underfloor. All these updates help in enhancing the car’s ride and handling characteristics, which in turn in improve the car’s overall performance. Jaguar F-Type rivals the likes of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, and is almost 10 lakhs cheaper than its competitor. Jaguar F-Type is also 33 BHP more powerful than the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. In the SVR model, however, the power plant has been further tweaked to produce an enhanced power output of around 570 BHP.
