The quintessential British marque, Jaguar showcases the US spec production models of the much hyped Jaguar F-Type Project 7 at the 2014 Monterey Car Week – Pebble Beach. A mere 250 road legal exquisite examples of the roadster will be manufactured by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations team for sale. The names are coined after the Jag's seven overall wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans! It also celebrates D-Type 60th anniversary this year.
The Project 7 commemorate Jag's glorious LeMans history and indeed it draws heavy inspiration from the renowned Le Mans-winning Jaguar D-Type racer. The meaner looks are imparted from the wider air intakes, D-Type-esque aero haunch; while the modern day add-ons include carbon fiber elements along with the revised quad exhaust system producing a mind boggling V8 burble!
The design of the Project 7 roadster is similar to the F-Type with additional bespoke aerodynamic aids along with decals all around the body! The roadster is available with two standard colors - Glacier White, Metallic white along with Ultra Blue (signature color of the Jaguar Land Rover SVO team). The optional shades on the Jaguar Project – 7 includes, British Racing Green, Ultimate Black and Caldera Red.
Power comes from the F-Type R coupe borrowed supercharged 5.0 liter V8 motor. The engine in the Project 7 extracts more than its sibling coupe, power figures are rated at 566.9bhp (575PS) – the most powerful Jag on the planet at-present! The engine is mated to a ZF borrowed 8-speed auto box, this setup makes the roadster to propels from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds before topping out at 300km/h (186mph); fastest cheetah on earth!
