Indian auto market, the second fastest growing auto sector is luring global auto players. The tremendous growth domestic auto sector has achieved can be partly credited to the Japanese auto giant who played an important role. But now the Japanese auto giants are ready to set a new challenge for the Indian auto makers. The Japanese auto major are fighting for a meaty chunk in the fast pacing domestic auto market. Honda, Nissan and Toyota have geared up to churn out profits from the upsurging domestic auto market.

Looking at the current market leader in the domestic auto sector, Maruti Suzuki India, the enterprise which is partly owned by the Japanese auto giant Suzuki and the Indian government has created a revolution in the car market. On the other hand, Honda which ventured with Hero Group owned by Munjals which resulted in Hero Honda. This venture helped the Indian buyers to enjoy low priced fuel economy bikes.

These joint ventures of Indian entrepreneurial skills and Japanese technology greatly developed a combination which made a rapid growth in the domestic auto sector and set a certain place for itself in the markets. The two joint ventures, however have been dissolved now. Where in Maruti Suzuki, the government gave its share back to the parent company Suzuki, Hero Honda parted ways in this year.

Now these Japanese auto biggies are facing increasing and tough competition from its homeground auto players. Maruti Suzuki had a winning year as currently it enjoys a stake of 50 per cent in the Indian auto market. The company now plans to introduce a new premium sedan Maruti Kizashi which will be the most expensive car from the Indian carmaker's stable. In the recent time India has also seen alot of auto giants from US and Europe which are growing with the increasing Indian auto sector.

With new car launches from the Honda, Toyota and Nissan which are coming with advanced technology and have priced their cars competitive, other car makers are feeling the heat of the intense competition Indian market experiences. The best and recent example of the heating competition is when Toyota introduced its sedan Toyota Etios for Rs 5 lakh and a hatchback Toyota Etios Liva scheduled to launch in April, 2010. The Japanese auto company will directly give competition to the current popular sedan Maruti Swift Dzire. Honda is another automobile maker planning to utilize the growth. It will come with a new small car Honda Brio. Nissan Motors scoring well with the Nissan Micra is expected to reduce the price of the car. It seems a tough call between the auto biggies but for the consumers it is totally a win win situation.
