A new car carrying an Atlo badge in the rear was spotted in Gurgaon. A Suzuki logo and two stickers with something written in Japanese in the rear end near the windshield were clearly visible. A slightly misplaced number plate with HR 26 on the grille implies that it a Maruti Suzuki registered car. As far as the exterior appaearance is concerned, the car resembles a lot with the Maruti A-Star hatchback. But, coming to the interiors, the space is far more than Maruti A-star or the outgoing Maruti Alto. The interiors seem to be well laid out to offer maximum space.

The tyres of the car appear to measure 145/13, but Maruti Suzuki might further reduce the size of the tyre in future if this car makes it to India. If it is the same JDM Suzuki Alto, one might easily assume that Maruti Suzuki might launch the small car in India in future. However, the information we have clearly points out that the JDM Suzuki  Alto might be showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo. A positive response from the consumers could make the auto major to consider a launch in India. Suzuki Motors had announced about the same car during last week. The 32 kmpl  mileage is the attention grabber for this car. Moreover, the 660 cc engine is the smallest capacity engine from the Japanese car manufacturer so far.

The 800 cc engine in the Maruti Suzuki Alto is the lowest capacity engine so far in India. Now, the time has come for the auto major to launch a new car to gear up to the upcoming competition.  It becomes imperative for the auto major to introduce a new car in the segment, especially now that Hyundai India has launched their cheapest car Eon to target Maruti Alto in the A segment cars. However, there could be another twist to it. Strong rumours are doing rounds that the auto major may probably introduce JDM Suzuki  Alto as new A-star in India. This could be true as Martui A-star hasn’t been particularly doing well with the sales in the recent past.
