Kia Seltos Facelift Spied Undisguised; Here Are 5 Things We Can See

The updated version of the compact SUV will go on sale in July

The facelifted Kia Seltos has been spied on undisguised for the first time. The compact SUV was launched in 2019 and this would be its first major upgrade since debut. It is expected to go on sale in July. So, here are the five key things that we spotted in the facelifted version: 

New Front Profile

The new Seltos will carry a refreshed front profile, starting with the new and bigger grille. It sports new LED headlights and sleeker DRLs, the latter being integrated into the grille. The bumper is also redesigned, which looks more busy as well as aggressive. While the stacked-ice cube fog lamps have been retained, their housing has been redesigned with the bumper. 

No Changes To The Side Profile

The side profile looks unchanged here, except for the tweaked door cladding. The alloy wheels, surprisingly, are also the same as seen on the X-Line variants. This looks like a higher-end model, courtesy of the chrome door handles. 

More Stylish Rear Profile

Changes to the rear profile are more significant than the front. The boot shape has been tweaked for a more aggressive appearance. It gets a new set of LED tail lamps joined by a strip, which should be illuminated. The bumpers also have been redesigned, which now house the reverse lights as well. The dual faux exhausts are now more prominent than in the ongoing version. Overall, it does give a sportier look.

ADAS!

While we already know it’s getting the radar-based ADAS technology, the latest spy shot confirms it. This is a production-ready vehicle which gets the rectangular-shaped radar on the front bumper. It will be the second compact SUV to get the safety feature, after the MG Astor. Its ADAS suite is expected to get blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keep assist. 

Refreshed Interior

We can just see a glimpse of the interior in these spy shots. The interior design of the facelifted model is expected to be refreshed with a new layout, similar to the international model. The global-spec model gets a new dual-layer, all-black theme with new switches and dual-integrated 10.25-inch displays (digital driver’s display and touchscreen infotainment). 

In terms of powertrains, it should continue with the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The new 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine will replace the now-discontinued 1.4-litre turbo motor. All the engines will get the option of an automatic transmission, as earlier.

We’re expecting the Kia Seltos facelift to be priced from around Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to take on the might of MG Astor, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Citroen C3 Aircross and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
