Kia is all set to launch the Seltos in India on 22 August 2019. While the launch is still a few days away, the carmaker has revealed details of the upcoming SUV. To begin with, the GT is the sportier of the two in terms of aesthetics as well as powertrain options, which we will discuss later.
Up front, the only visible difference between the two iterations is the front bumper. The Seltos GT Line comes with red accents on the faux skid plate and a GT badge on the grille unlike the standard Seltos Tech Line.
The chrome accents seen on the lower half of the Tech Line’s doors have been replaced by red coloured accents in the Seltos GT Line.
Another differentiating factor between the two trim lines are the different set of alloys. Where the Tech Line comes with gunmetal finish wheels with silver brake calipers, the GT Line gets machine finished dual-tone alloys as well as red calipers.
The difference at the rear are also of the similar kind. The rear skid plate on the Setos GT Line features red accents unlike Tech Line model. The GT Line also gets the ‘GT’ and the T-GDI badgings, both of which are absent on the Tech Line models.
While the cabin layout remains identical, the GT Line comes with red contrasting stitching on the steering wheel, seats as well as the gear knob. It also gets a GT badge instead of Seltos badge in the Tech Line.
The Seltos Tech Line comes with single tone beige colour seats with hexagonal pattern, the GT Line, on the other hand, gets dual-tone seats with GT branding and rectangular pattern. Along with these, Kia will also offer an optional all-black interior for the GT Line variants
Features:
If we compare the top-spec variants of both trims - the GTX+ and the HTX+ - the GT Line is the better equipped of the two. Over the HTX+, it gets side and curtain airbags, a 360-degree camera, blind view monitor system (the system relays side camera feed to the 7-inch MID when indicators are activated), a head-up display, cruise control, electronic stability control, hill hold control and vehicle stability management system.
Engines:
Where the Tech Line is available with a set of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, the GT Line can only be had with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol motor.

Conclusion:
All in all, if you want your Seltos to be packed with all the bells and whistles then, the GT Line is the one to go for. However, if you can live without some safety features like the 360-degree camera, side and curtain airbags and blind view monitor system, the HT Line could be the ideal choice for you. That said, the GT Line will be our recommended choice since it offers better safety than the Tech Line variants.
